100 mph geology

Have you ever looked at the geology of southern Utah and wondered at the ages that have made the strange formations, canyons, and river rapids the way they are?
This year while on a float I witnessed the geology speed up to ~100mph in a really close call. A huge boulder broke off of a cliff band high above the river and rolled towards my friends Dennis and Terry who were rowing a boat through Rabbit Valley rapids. I stood across the river watching in dis-belief. Terry recounts the story very well in the following link.
